A Note from Jenny about iWoman International©

iWoman International© was established in November 2008. It was my desire to create a community of women who could be connected share life’s lessons & learned wisdom. Empowering women to learn from each other by celebrating the unique gift of being themselves.

iWoman International© was birthed from the belief that as women we are always the older and the younger woman to another. It is both a responsibility and a privilege. Navigating one’s journey through life is more fulfilling when we share with others. This ‘other’ may be a friend, a mentor, a partner… I believe that too often as women, we can make unhelpful decisions and life choices not because it was the best choice but because it seemed like our only choice. Through this site & services, links etc my goal is to provide information and connection to support women and offer encouragement for the journey.

Can I encourage you to choose to give someone the gift of encouragement and yourself the gift of kindness, ‘no more regrets – just learn’. Live generously, especially towards yourself!

Personally Speaking

Born on 1963 in Sydney Australia, I was raised in Newcastle and then Port Macquarie on the Mid-North Coast of Australia. The younger of two children, my childhood was spent in the relative carefree atmosphere of Port Macquarie’s beautiful seaside.

Becoming pregnant in my teens I was married & later divorced and raising two children just after my 21st birthday. A single-mum for 3 and half years I went through a lot of personal change and soul searching. My father, Bob, passed away during this time aged 52 from cancer.

As I went thru this existential angst and time of questioning I embarked on a spiritual journey and became a Christian. My faith works for me! However what that means to me & how I outwork that has changed over time, 24 years to be exact. Faith to me is a way of living and being not a belonging system..

I have the deepest respect for those who are sincerely searching for spiritual understanding and connection. I have come to consider myself as one who is at home in the wider community of faith. For if we have not love for each other then we are nothing & know not God (He & She alike). I follow my heart, I listen to those who speak from their own and I question, doubt and dare to know there’s always more..

During this time I met and married Graham who had two children from his previous marriage. We did the, yours, mine and ours thing each with two children making an instant family of six. A blended family from the beginning of our relationship we eventually had another child together and have now been married for over 22 years. No small feat!.

I completed a degree in Social Science majoring in Counselling in my 30’s having left high school at sixteen and have since followed a number of other educational pursuits. I went thru another stage of searching and yearning as my last child was nearing her graduation which led me to the vision and birthing of iWoman International and the counselling arm of iConfidential..

Currently my husband and I live in Brisbane, Queensland. Our five children range in age from 19-30 years and we have four grandchildren..

I enjoy spending time with family & friends, travelling, music, movies, painting, reading, chocolate, lazy days curled up on the lounge listening & watching the rain and really good coffee!
