To deal with painful feelings, a child must first be able to identify the feeling (what do I feel?), quantify the feeling (how much do I feel?) and release the feeling (what action should I take to release it?)

Terrific poem by Marion Woodman…makes you think

If you’re a happy carrot
why wouldn’t you remain a happy carrot?
If you’re happy, and your life is mostly joy,
why would you want to be conscious?

Few of us come to consciousness
without great pain;
something unbearable
has happened.

Don’t try to take others
out of carrothood.
You’ll be responsible
for trying to make them conscious,
and that is misuse of power.
Some people are happy carrots.
God bless them!
